20MW Rihand Solar PV Project
The 20MW Solar PV project at Rihand is being developed on ~75 acres land on the old Ash Dyke of NTPC Rihand Thermal Power Station. The project is 1st of its kind in India and involves large quantity of land reclamation at the ash dyke area. If successful, NTPC shall undertake more such solar projects on its other ash dykes. The project has been won by NTPC under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding conducted in 2019 by Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Authority (UPNEDA).
To develop new EPC vendors in Indian market, the project is being developed under EPC model through M/s Safety Controls and Devices Pvt. Ltd. and power shall be evacuated the 220kV switchyard of NTPC Rihand power station.
